Thanks for stopping by my blog for Laurie Peacock Photography. I'm a Chicago-area wedding and portrait photographer who loves capturing the sparkle in the eye, a gentle caress, a burst of laughter. I admire photography that conveys a mood. My style is part photojournalism and part "whatever will get the great shot." I'm a firm believer in excellent customer service. You come first. Plain and simple. While being in front of a camera can be scary, I want to do everything within my power to make a photo shoot or your wedding day fun and easy. When you receive your finished photos, I hope more than anything that the people in the photos won't be the only ones with smiles on their faces.

Something new is coming your way

I’m stoked that I’m about to unveil my new blog and branding for you verrrry soon.

In the meantime, I have to share a couple things that make me happy and drive me to do better.

I received the nicest comment from a groom’s sister yesterday:

“Your passion is so evident in your work.  You have an uncanny ability to capture a person’s soul.  I’m sitting here balling - don’t worry, the tears followed a huge smile.”

As Truvy says in the quintessential chick-flick, Steel Magnolias, “Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.”  I couldn’t agree more. Contradictory emotions like this are why I got into photography in the first place. Thank you for the beautiful compliment.  It made my day.

And speaking of smiles, photographer, Jeremy Lawson, held a get-together a while back.  Check out his hilarious photos.  You might even recognize a goofy redhead in some of them.

Out of the office

I will be out of the country for the next four days and will have only sporadic access to e-mail.  I will answer all e-mails and phone calls upon my return.

Don’t be jealous, but I’m going somewhere warm.  Guess.  It begins with a “M.”  :)

Aryan: the cutest 1-year old

Announcing: lil’ Elise

A little over two weeks old and utterly adorable.  *Sigh*  Actually, the entire family makes me very happy.  Gabe and Maira are parents for the first time, unless you count their dachshund.  Thanks for making my Saturday afternoon so enjoyable!
