Vintage Caitlin

More photos of the lovely Caitlin.  I love the vintage vibe going throughout the photos.

By the way, she did her own make-up and is a Mary Kay entrepreneur.  Feel free to visit her website.

Woo-woo who?

Murphy, the sweeter of my two furry canines, has been woo-woo-wooing all of the time.  I think Chicago’s winter has finally gotten to him…or maybe it’s the constant fire trucks passing by.  (He likes to mimic the sirens and does a pretty good job at it too.)  He’ll also start woo-woo-wooing when he’s excited or when Winston the beagle is monopolizing my attention.  What a dork.  :)  He looks so mean here, but I assure you that he’s quite the lover bug.

Caitlin…the natural

I had a wonderful photo shoot all around Chicago with the gorgeous Caitlin.  She’s not a model, but as you will see below, she could be.  I also was able to try out my new Nikon D700 and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens along with off-camera flash.  I love the new equipment…completely worth the investment.  I can’t wait to use the new camera at a wedding next weekend.

Caitlin, thank you for the wonderful time around Chicago.  I know you froze, but I hope you find the results worth it!

Good news all around

First, my cousin gave birth to a little boy on Valentine’s Day.  I’m so excited because the baby is already home, although he was born a month early and only weighs 4 lbs. and some change.  They had to induce labor early due to my cousin having some health issues.  But everyone is GOOD!!!  I’m so happy.  Hopefully, someday soon I’ll have photos to show you.

The other good news is less important, but I sold one of my Nikon D300s and some lenses to upgrade to the Nikon D700, which is a full frame camera with amazing high ISO capabilities, and the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. I’m stoked to try them out.  I should receive the items by the end of the week.  The new equipment will make photographing dark wedding receptions and churches a breeze, so I can focus less on the techie stuff and more on grabbing that critical moment on the dance floor.  You know the one: Aunt Bette and Uncle Ernie cuttin’ a rug after a few glasses of wine while everyone watches in awe of their swing dancing prowess.  :)

Good ol’ Columbus, Ohio

My boyfriend and I visited my sister and her husband this past weekend.  I had such a wonderful time.  My sister’s husband cooked amazing food, and we had a blast drinking wine, Long Island ice tea, and playing lots of games.

But of course, my sister and I had to get Tiki, the Siamese mix, on camera.  I think Tiki views modeling with quite a bit of disgust.  Poor thing.  But don’t worry, she came back for more belly rubs once the camera was put away.

And, I almost forgot to tell you.  My sister’s husband and my boyfriend conspired together on our Valentine’s gifts.  On Sunday, my sis and I were treated to 90 minute massages.  HEAVEN!!!!!  I don’t know what I did to deserve such luxury, but *sigh* I enjoyed it immensely.

Thanks, Sis and Bro for such a wonderful stay!!!!!

Hey Ladies!

I’ve had several people inquire lately about having a boudoir shoot, but couldn’t quite swing it due to tight finances.  After thinking how I could reduce the cost, I came up with an idea.  I am planning on renting a very nice hotel room located in downtown Chicago if I can get 4-5 people to schedule 1 hour boudoir sessions on a Saturday or Sunday in March (TBD).   So here’s the boudoir special package I’ve created for you pending I get enough people to participate:

1 hour session
Hotel room
Make-up artist
Little Black Book photo album
Retouched photos

All of this for $375.  If you don’t get the photo album, it will be $250.  I threw in the make-up artist, because with boudoir photography having lots of lashes and picture-perfect skin brings out a woman’s confidence.

Each session will just be you and me, unless you want to bring a friend to give you courage.  I’ll have munchies and wine to keep you going as well.

I take very good care of my boudoir ladies.  :)

So tell your friends and let me know who all is interested.  I think it will be a blast!  Plus you will receive gorgeous photos to commemorate the experience.  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or call me at 312.961.2297.  Feel free to forward this e-mail to people who might be interested.

Flipped off

Poor, poor Winston’s ear.  It has a mind of it’s own.  It stayed like this for fifteen minutes.
