When I photographed Rachel and Billy's engagement session last November, I was excited for their wedding, because they have such a natural chemistry between them. 

 
Not only was their chemistry free-flowing during the wedding, but the ceremony light was heavenly. 

And the kids...oh the kids were so extraordinary. They really hammed it up for me.

 
One of my favorite details of the day in addition to the kids' smiles was Rachel's hair. She was a stunnahhhh! I want hair like that! The spiderman ring shot and the hot dog toppers reflect Billy's obsessions.

 
Rachel and Billy, congrats on your beautiful wedding, and may your future life together be as lovely!

One of my favorite moments of the wedding was when Tiffany read a note from her father, which she received during a particularly difficult time in her dating life. She kept it and read it to Josh during her vows. See if you can read the words in the photo below. 

Tiffany and Josh make me so happy. Their expressions are amazing. They are amazing.

Stephanie and Dan are soon-to-be-married in September, and I can't wait for their wedding.  They are sweet and obviously very much in love.  When Dan leaned down to kiss Stephanie's shoulder near the end of the session, I knew the photo would be awesome.

I always try to capture the natural caresses of couples, because it's the little things that make each couple unique and memorable.

She adores reading and wanted a low-key wedding that didn't make her guests feel deprived in any way.  Both Erin and her now husband, Nitsuh, spectacularly succeeded in this endeavor.

I'm still in awe of their decor.  Minus the beautiful flowers from Scarlet Petal, everything, including the books for the guests were DYI.  And the food...*sigh*  IT WAS AMAZING.  North Pond really outdid themselves. 

How do I keep getting amazing couples like Erin and Nitsuh?  They make me so happy, especially the photos of Nitsuh dancing.  He's such a cutie!

Well enough from me.  Get ready to see some photos of a LOVELY and charming wedding.

The minute I met Christen, I was totally jonesing for her make-up selections.  Her complexion is similar to mine.  Gotta love freckles, especially Jay's.  I foresee freckled children in their future (should they decide to have some).

The entire day was so easy and fun, especially the wedding party. They wanted a jumping shot, which I never ask for from my wedding couples but if they request it, I'm happy to oblige. I have to admit, I really love how high some of them jumped. Amazing.

My favorite part of the reception was when Christen and Jay gave an impromptu toast and talked about wonderful it was to be surrounded about everyone who loves and supports them. They didn't want the night to end. This is exactly how I felt on my own wedding day.

Christen and Jay, I hope through these photos that the memories of your wedding never fade.

Laura and Raj drove me to Laura's family farm in Hinckley, Illinois. I haven't laughed that hard or be that inspired in a long time.

Laura's family even gave me a bag of goodies like zucchini bread and fresh vegetables from the garden.

We also had a little meeting of two cultures in our photos when Laura and Raj changed into Indian clothing. I swore I'd never do the much overdone American Gothic shot, but I couldn't resist doing it with a twist: American Gothic, International Version 2.0. :)

Oh, Laura and Raj do a great imitation of America's Next Top Model too.

We capped the night with yummy Dairy Joy, the fine Hinkley fast-food establishment.

I'm not waxing poetically. Over Ruffled Feathers Golf Club, a lovely rainbow graced our presence during cocktail hour. While the bagpiper had to go inside due to the rain, my second photographer, Maggie, and I dashed outside to capture this rare occurrence.

By the way, if you're curious as to why Sheila is jumping on a blue trampoline, check out the movie, The Time Traveler's Wife. Sheila wanted to be like the movie characters and jump on the bed in their wedding attire, but due to time constraints, running back to the hotel wasn't an option. Instead, Mark surprised Sheila with a blue trampoline and a copy of the movie as his wedding gift to her. Pretty thoughtful gift, eh?

Girls Irish dancing and seeing Sheila and Mark enjoy the festivities were other highlights of the evening.

Sheila and Mark, thank you for sharing your lovely friends and family with me. It was such a memorable day.

One of the key parts of the ceremony, in addition to the bride and groom honoring the groom's parents, is the throwing of the dates and chesnuts into the bride's wedding skirt. The more dates and chesnuts the bride and groom catch in her wedding skirt, the more years of happiness they will share together. Al's father didn't want to risk any bad luck, so he took the safer route and placed the dates directly into the skirt to much applause from the group.

Another cool tradition is that the groom has to take his new bride, piggyback, around the room after the ceremony.

I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to hang out with Tess and Al's family on this special day. I also loved the noodles (traditional Korean wedding fare), which Tess's grandmother served me.
