By the time Lisa and Daniel's brunch reception wrapped up, it was around noon and the sun was bright overhead - not the ideal time for a portrait session.  Fortunately, we were near Berwyn Avenue in Andersonville, which is such a lovely shaded street with meticulously landscaped lawns.

Lisa and Daniel, thank you for the honor of photographing your wedding.  It was such a pleasure!

Laurie, thank you so much! We are honored as well. You are so patient and sweet, and we so enjoyed that afternoon session. We were both relaxed and savoring the feeling that started with our ceremony that morning.

When I first met Lisa, she showed me some of her family portraits to emphasize how much she treasures photos. I immediately knew she would be wonderful to work with since she shared my enthusiasm for photography.  While sipping tea, we shared our philosophies on life - fitting since philosophy is one of her other loves (in addition to her fiance, Daniel, of course).

Wedding Preparations

Steve Koo grabbed the photos of the men -don't you like the skinny ties?- while I photographed the lovely ladies.  The men hung out at Peet's coffee shop, Daniel's favorite place for java.

Early Morning Chicago Beach Ceremony

The beach ceremony was so beautifully back-lit and the umbrellas were lovely. One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was when Daniel's niece recited a love poem. She was so proud that she was able to correctly pronounce the words.

Wedding Brunch at Reza's

After the ceremony, a yummy brunch was held at Reza's in Andersonville. The decor was so vibrant, and I loved the mother of the bride's speech. She did a funny imitation of her daughter imitating her.  And of course, I had fun photographing the kids.

Stay tuned for the next post, which will show photos of Daniel and Lisa after the reception.
