Family Photography FAQ
1.) Where do you photograph clients?
I photograph clients in their homes or on location (often outside, but am open to other ideas) in Chicago. I also am willing to travel to suburbs. I am happy to help you choose.
2.) When do you photograph clients?
I schedule photo shoots on weekends and have limited availability during the week.
3.) I see a lot of candids on your site. Do you also do posed portraits?
I do both. My specialty is capturing fleeting moments that you will keep forever. But I also understand that you want photos of everyone looking at the camera.
4.) What are your documentary photos?
Documentary photos aren’t posed and are entirely candid. Think newspaper photography. In my documentary family photos, I want to see the connection between people. Images that say more than “this is what they are doing”…a moment in which we can all relate to on some higher level.
5.) What’s your turnaround time?
I’m pretty fast and have your online gallery up within two weeks of your session. After you choose your images, I will send you a link for downloading the retouched,
6.) Do you do retouching and what does it entail?
Usually, my photos need little retouching and often look great with just a little color correction and added contrast, which I provide as part of my packages. When I do retouch photos per request, I adhere to the adage, less is more. I remove blemishes, fix flyaways, remove distractions. Retouching is $20 extra per 10 images.
7.) What should we wear?
Think complimentary colors and less matchy-matchy. White shirts and blue jeans
